Default RS4 Police Car

Does anyone here know about a dark gray RS4 unmarked police car in NJ. It was spotted on the 287 near 80 this afternoon pulling someone over.

Default That's complete nonsense.....

First, why would a police department spend $70k on a police vehicle when they can achieve similar performance (speed) for half that (HEMI Charger, Mustang)?

Second, unless the car has been impounded and/or the officers are undercover, you will rarely see, if ever, a police vehicle that is foreign.

'Nuf said.

If by some fluke it is true, I am applying to that department immediately with the caveat that I do only traffic enforcement.

Default Is it completely inconceivable that the car was seized and, instead of sold, used in a police fleet?

I really don't know about the legalities of such a possibility, so I really am curious.

But yes, it seems like it'd be cost-effective to sell the car at auction and buy a Charger w/ a HEMI; at least the motorpool would save on training (e.g. how to repair different types of cars) and inventory (stocking different parts for multiple makes/models) by standardizing inventory.

You know - the JetBlue model....

Default i agree with you on the cost, but... doesn't need to cost...

it could also be a PR offer from AoA - they are based in NJ... many years ago Salleen donated 21 full race tuned mustangs (the best were the full cages as the ragar mount)to the Seal Beach PD. i know mustang - but the real, numbered, Salleens...

cops all over roll BMW bikes - cost more and are foreign. Colorado has used Saabs...i have witnessed Subarus too.

Meh, I have lived all over the Northeast and have never seen a marked foreign car.
