Rubber bands on.....
I finally had the Toyo PROXES 4/HRE's mounted & balanced over the weekend. Getting my car back tomorrow. Very excited. Just wish I could say the same for the Stoptech BBK (see post below).
The lips were scratched slightly where it is held by the machine. It's not like they don't know what they are doing (and me being right there worried about it happening). Even with something between the lip and the part that holds it, it still scuffs on the surface. They are just too soft and easily scratched - even with the layers of protection I put on. Not liking that. So I just had to polish them again. (Note to self; "Polish/detail after tires are mounted"). I'm wondering if I should have got them clear-coated now. Some say yes, others no, for the lips. Some recommended chrome, but I didn't want that. Not a big deal to repolish them, but it does show how sensitive it is.
The tires look really nice, although maybe I should have gone with 245 instead of 235. The tire rim protector is less then flush to the lips edge (inside edge too) by 1-2mm.
Also, I completely forgot to weigh the wheels/tires separately, Doh! I need a scale.

congrats! can't wait to see them on your ride. it's funny...the first 1k miles you become sooo
protective over your HREs sort of like when you first buy your car and park it 200 feet away from any other car in the parking lot.
Enjoy and post pics soon!

The little gap is normal between the wheel edge and the rim protector......
it is not so much the tire size as it is the depth of the bead channel on the wheel. Each wheel will seat differently. you should have no issue. As far as mounting, the clear coat on mine protected the edges a little more, but it was also $500 more for all 4.
