Running a K04 with K03 bigger injector software temporarily?

Default Running a K04 with K03 bigger injector software temporarily?
So I'm looking at possibly doing a K04 this year.

I'm planning on having my mechanic install the K04 but then drive it to the tuner's shop and having the ECU flashed with GIAC's K04 software. Is there any risk of driving with a K04 turbo on the bigger injector software? I could see running K04 software and only having the K03 with bigger injectors being an issue. But I would think the K04 can handle the bigger injector software without issues, just that the full potential of the K04 isn't being used.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Default I had to do the same...
just keep the k04 out of the upper boost range and all will be fine...

Now if I could only find a decently priced K04...everyone is selling for at least $900 now. IIRC, prices were much lower before.

Default Yeah, there was a point in '07 or '08 where the prices went up; I remember the "last chance" sales
at the older price point.

Default Ahh. My mechanic is going to look at a few sources he has and see what pricing he can
find for them.

2nd. Drove about 10 mi. but stayed away from high boost/rpms

Default Cool. Though the two shops are about 57 miles apart but all highway
so pretty easy to stay out of high boost and RPMs.

At what psi is considered the upper range? 12+?
