Think I might go for S4 hood grill and 'blackout' lower. What do people think about that combination?

I think I'm going to go with this setup but with the chrome S4 grill because my car has the chrome trims on the window sashes.

Thanks for the pic! That really helps cement my decision, and you're right...the lines matching up at the bottom is nice.

Default i had an S4 grille that I'd painted the actual grill black and the trim body color with a black out
regular grill.

i liked it overall
