I just used the 2000 A4 tail lights which are the same as the S4. Bought them at the dealer.

You will need to rewire the connector (very small and easy job) as when you put the lights in, the new circuit board in the light housing is different and light up different lights...such as your brake pedal lights the reverse lights, your blinkers light the brake lights, etc.... You just change the wires to match the board to where the lights are supposed to light up. I am not an electrical guru by any means and I figured it out pretty easily.
