It seems the SUV drivers are having issues these days. Seems to me Audi is an excellent alternative

many SUV bashers do it out of fear and insecurity.
SUVs are the cool thing to bash so people therefore bash them. You do it b/c it makes you feel like you belong to some neat club.
Any damage SUVs do to pollute is so exceedingly minute in the grand scheme of things. Want to save the environment? Get a bicycle.

I just scratched my *****, you doing the same?
What is so cool about bashing SUV's? And why would you think this given how defensive you are about this joyless form of transportation?
I can see why people want one if they carry a bunch of stuff/people with them at least fairly regularly - but for the rest of them, I can't see what the attraction is.
Every time I drive one I find it to be quite a ways removed from a fun driving experience. And if you want that, buy a Lexus, not a tank that requires you to excessively slow down the moment you are within 50 miles of a bend.

The thing about the SUV's is that they are actually driving up the price of gas so everyone is
paying for those that drive SUV's. There are 20 million SUV's on the road. Something like 5% ever touch dirt. Station wagons, mini vans are much better alternatives. I'm not sure that we can blame those that buy them, I think we should be blaming the oil companies, car manufacturers and anyone else that profits off of suv's, politicians too.
If all the suv's were to stop driving, the price of gas would go down .30 cents. Where I live, I pay $2.19 a gallon. Bay Area. I actually kept my integra after buying my A4 for the very reason that the Acura gets like 30+mpg where as my A4 gets about 22mpg around town. The other thing to note is that my acura takes regular gas which is about $1.70 per gallon.
