I'm thinking about a short shifter and during my search have read alot of questions about the longevity of the syncros and possible transmission warranty problems. I think I may go with UUC but would appreciate any input before the purchase.

I'd rather not answer about how much a short shifter would shorten the life of the synchros otherwise. I will say you're giving the synchros less time to do their job if you use a short shifter and shift quickly with it. That's usually not good for helping their lifespan.

It's my understanding that the UUC shifter for '02+ A4s isn't out yet.

On my 03 1.8. Had neuspeed on my 01 to and never had any problems.
