Default Should I keep my A4?

It's an 03 1.8t manual. I just broke 100K.

I love this car. But it's had some typical A4 issues. Ignition coils (x2), oil pump (sludge from when they weren't using synthetic), sun roof switch, speaker crackle, glove box hinge blowout. The coils were under warranty, some of the rest was handled by AoA after some prodding. Some of it I've shelled out for.

The last thing was the engine temp issues (new fan module and some other sensors - $1000 at the dealer!). Yes, I just got the coolant sensor letter - not sure if it's the same thing I had going on - will definitely find out.

Next is obviously going to be the timing belt etc for around $1300, and I apparently have some control arm bushing issues and a leaky front motor mount - not sure how serious (or expensive) all of that is. And the CEL is still on even after the $1000 repair.

So. Did I say I still love the car? Other than the stuff above, it's in great shape - very clean. It's been serviced regularly. Most of the miles were highway.

How many other ticking time bombs can I expect?

I haven't posted much on this forum, but the info here has been invaluable. Hoping some of you with 100K or more can give me some insight on what I can expect. I mean I'm willing to weather some stormy times if there is light at the end of the tunnel. But I also need reliable transpo that I can count on, and that I don't have to take out a home equity line to keep running.

Default Highway miles means nothing- 100k is the killer. A clutch/tranny realted failure is pending. Run.

Reliable transportation? Buy a Ford Ranger.

Trade it in for a CPO. You'll love the next one even more.

Default Easier said than done.

I swore to my wife I was buying a Honda Accord after my B5. Only took one test drive and I bought another A4. Even with their problems they're addictive cars.

However, I'm seriously leaning towards a GS300 since my wife just bought an ES300. Not quattro, but nice cars and very reliable.
