Default Size ?? Tire

Finally I see a lot of posts on Tire sizes and other wheel related stuff.
My question is if 255 on 18" would fit, without changing of the offset.
And of course it can not rub ?
I have heard some S4 dudes are running this tire.
Thanks

The "S4 dudes" are rolling their fenders to make it fit.

Default Not a smart move in my opinion.

255 tires MIGHT fit and if they do it will be VERY close to the control arm. Rubbing the wheel well is not a concern on both the sport or non-sport cars. If a car is lowered then it's an entirely different ball game. However, rubbing is not the issue as far as I am concerned. My 245 Toyo T1-S tires sit at the very edge of the wheel wheels and frankly I am a bit concerned about rocks and stones hitting the side of the car. It's not a huge concern but it's something I need to keep an eye on. Check out this picture.

The mud guard looks ridiculous compared to the size of the tire but the upper part helps to protect the body exposed (above the trim) in the top part of the pic.

My wheels have a 35mm offset. Even if you could find an 18" with say an 38mm offset then the control arm comes into play. Bottom line, it MIGHT be possible but I would not take the risk. 245 tires are plenty wide for this car and we know they will fit.

No amount of traction is worth the look of those splashguards!

A necessary evil (even with the 225 snows) in my part of the woods.
