So I live in San diego and my fiends and I are planning a trip up to big bear next week and chances are it might be required to use snow chains. I am new to California but not new to driving in snow being that I grew up in Chicago. I have been reading some conflicting information on the forum so my questions are; can I use snow chains on a quattro system, which tires do I need them for, are there special ones I need and can anyone recommend a specific kind. Any input would be appreciated thanks.

Although the two links I found are for the Q5, they would apply to your quattro system as well. Chains should only go on the rear. Both threads are concerning trips up to Big Bear, so you may enjoy what members have to say. Worth reading IMO.
