Default I am not a fan of adjustable shocks. BTDT.

I spent too much time under my car looking to dial in the perfect setting. I never found it. The ***** stop wanting to turn after a while thanks to Chicago winters, salt, and age.

Off the shelf Bilsteins rule. You take them out of the box and install them. Done.

Default FWIW, I had a Koni/Intrax on my B5 that was adjustable dampening

but the fact they had to be removed from the car to be adjusted ruins it. I set them in the middle on install and never tweeked them in 4 years. too much PIA

Default Exactly, not very easy to adjust the shocks if you need to. Plus if they're installed and then I'm

not happy with the setting, kinda sucks to pay labor again to have them removed and adjusted.

Default i've had koni yellows and bilsteins on my 90q, most of the stiffness comes from springs

when i ran S2 springs with bilsteins, the ride was pretty soft. and i think koni yellow in middle setting is still softer than bilstein

Default If doing this for performance, then go for it. If you are doing it for looks, skip...

...I did the suspension upgrade in the 2.7T, and I should have left it alone. Even with the H&R coilovers, I was never satisfied with the ride quality on my daily commute. Sure, I loved the feel of the car when I was taking aggressive turns, but in the end, I spend 90% of the time driving "normally" and regretted spending the $$ on suspension upgrades.

Since I do not track the car, OEM sport is fine for me, and I'd rather spend my money on other enhancements to the car that I can enjoy instead of risking the $$ on soemthing that I might regret.

Just my two cents...
