So could it be a dying battery causing my start problem?

As some of you have read yesterday, I got my FX K03 software and injectors (Genesis 380cc).
After getting it installed, starting the car is not what it was like before getting the injectors/software. The car seems almost like it is fuel starved. It cranks for about 2 seconds longer than it did before the FXK03. It's almost like there is no fuel in the injectors/fuel rail. I had found that the fuel rail release valve was slightly loose, thus thinking it was loosing pressure. I tightened it and the next start after sitting for a bit, it started right up as it did with the stock injectors/giac file. However, today, the starting problem has come back. I've tried waiting a few seconds for everything to prime then start but no difference.
Here's what I know:
- Injectors seated properly
- No leaking fuel around the injectors
- No problems accelerating (that's for sure!)
- No hesitations when driving, etc. All normal.
- The start problem didn't start till after the injectors/file were put in
- While flash was being performed, car was probably on for 45min - 1hour (on position)
So I got to thinking, maybe it's the battery and not injectors/file causing the problem. Its 3.5 years old, been through 3 winters. Last winter it was garaged outside 24/7. Can a dying battery cause the longer start/crank time?
EDIT: Found that 1/4 scale had the same problem with longer crank time but went away after some time. Clicky

Might be the same problem 1/4 scale had, his battery might have been drained a bit too. I still think it's something loose in the fuel system though... hope it does sort itself out magically though!
I never had that problem with FX K03 as I mentioned, not even for the first few starts.

thats an easy test. set it on the lowest amp setting like 2-5 amp. your battery will be peaking in the morning to eliminate that question.
i'd pull the plugs too; if they are fouled (oil/gas/water) it may point to a problem; that is of course before you start.
your car have some blue smoke on startup? park on an incline?
it is not unheard of for an injector to leak; have the clap; and foul the plug a little on first turnover. you might smell gas in the oil

No smell of gas anywhere. Just really strange.
I don't have a trickle charger...does that require the hood to be up overnight or unlatched?

I went out to the grocery store, came back out to go home and it would do the cranking thing again. Very strange.
