Stage 1 to 1+ is like getting rechipped again. Going from stock to 1+ would be 'overwhelming'

Default I upgrade from Stage 1 to 1+ three weeks ago...

There was no question the car had more power, plus in fifth gear I started getting feedback off the clutch that I had never had before with Stage 1.

Default It was there from the get-go...

I don't buy that "ECU has to adapt" argument. Once I put my foot down, and the rpms hit 3000, it was immediately obvious the car was running a different software file. The overall drive was also much smoother and I found rev matching between gears much easier.

Maybe you're not driving the car hard enough to tell the difference. If I drive the car lightly, I can't even tell it's chipped. You've got to get that turbo working to feel the gains. You should feel some obvious gains between 3500 to 5500 rpms. Likewise, you should/will feel some vibrations in 5th or 6th when you go to pass without downshifting. People claim this is the stock clutch giving under out the increased load.

Thanks, I'll have some time on the freeway on ramps tomorrow. Will let you know how it goes.

Default make sure you do the throttle body adaptation

turn the car on, not cranked, just on, foot on the gas pedal for 5 seconds, turn car off, leave foot on gas for another 1-2 seconds, release gas pedal

You should hear some clicks from the engine bay.

not much on top end, you still need to short shift most of the gain is at first spool.

Default Should be immediate...

.... And I found it amazing, not just a little bump up (of course I was an early victim of bad programming and worse injectors, but thats another story). It should go like gangbusters right out of the box. its pretty flat until 3500 rpm on my car, but pulls really hard from there to 5k or so. A small displacment turbo car can only do so much though, so its still real weak off idle; only more cubes will fix that (the 2.0 fsi is MUCH stronger off idle).

Default if you're top end feels sluggish...

try swapping spark plugs to NGK BKR6E, or another similar copper plug, under $10 for all 4
