Default You'll be getting more heat, IMHO. more inside

If you want to make sure your car is pulling that heat away, here are some things to do:

1) Make sure your coolant is fresh and efficient. You might want to flush and refill more often than the OEM recommends, since Audi's schedule is based on stock performance.

2) Don't add a FMIC in front of your radiator, since it could reduce the cooling efficiency of the radiator. I have no data to support that theory, it may be no difference, I'm not sure.

3) Replace the lower right grill in your front bumper that is blocked with the European version that is open. This can create more air flow on the turbo side of the engine compartment, and pull away hot air. Any techniques to move air over the engine will assist in engine cooling.

4) Don't confuse cooling of intake air (via DSMIC or FMIC) vs. engine cooling, they are completely different items, and in fact counteract one another.

Default No theres a fine line between using it as cooling and melting

had it on the mazda 6, granted there were precats but they ran pig rich stock to protect but not so rich that the cat turned into a giant furnace.

Default However cats can't melt in carburated cars...

Seriously. I saw this video on the news a couple days ago (I think that's where I saw it). There was a woman who drove like 20 miles on the highway at speeds in excess of 60mph (they said that on the news, but of course she'd be going that fast if she was on the highway) and after she got where she was going, she heard her cat and they found it stuck behind the carburater. It was fine. A little OT, but I think I've made my point.
