so i put a 3 inch test pipe on my car and now i have a little more lag but huge top end power anyone

Default You reduced backpressure by adding the testpipe; that will reduce low-end torque.

Pretty common occurance across all models of cars.

do you think if i put a 2 1/2 inch it would be better

Default You wouldn't lose so much of the low end torque, but you'd lose a little off the top end.

Comparitively speaking. However, a 2 1/2 inch test pipe is still going to be freer-flowing than a cat in place there, unless you get an aftermarket high-flow cat.

for all around driving, yes, it's probably the better option.
