Watched a movie, got into my car to drive home and turn the heat on as it was freezing.
A few minutes later the fan is blasting and I'm starting to warm up..all of a sudden the fan stops pushing air, and the fan power level on the HVAC controls dropped to no bars.
Then about 20 seconds later it jsut came back on.
What gives?

the fan control down, especially on startup and when it is cold outside. The idea is too not pump more cold air into the cabin and to gradually bring the fan on higher as your engine temp increases.
What happened to you happens to me ALL the time. But seldom in the non-winter days.
If you want the fan on high all the time, remove it off auto mode.
