So my manual 5 speed is being replaced under warranty should i push to see if they can give me 6? ..
Are the front and rear diffs the same in the 6 speed and the 5, also what about the linkages and the shafts? Anyone know if anything other than the Trans itself is changed. Im thinking that why cant they give me an 04 Six speed.

Re: They say its a "chipped" gear, I think bad bearing. Progressive wine gets louder with speed....
Does not change with gear, or clutch. they have allready swapped the rear diff for the same noise. ....Oh well take 2.

Are they replacing the whole tranny?
usually they'll try to just rebuild it (replace 1 or 2 gears and bearings) in which case, you'll be very hard pressed to get them to swap out the whole tranny. but good luck
