Default The On line GEKO Server Immo adaptation process, does not expose any SKC to anyone...

including the dealer techs. Having a second ECU Immo adapted to a certain VIN, does not have anything to do with the dealer flashing over any tuning files that may exist on the ECU. It's a separate process, requiring specific procedures to accomplish.

If the second ECU has tuning files on it, that are locked to the VIN that was associated with the original tuning file flash to the ECU, then the files must be licensed to the new VIN before the tuning files will be activated. AFAIK, the ECU will defer to stock parameters, if the tuned files are locked due to a VIN mismatch.

You can always try cloning the Immo adaptation from the first ECU, to the second ECU using APR's Immo Clone program, it's free download from the APR website. A VAG-COM serial interface cable in required to use the Immo Clone program. The Immo Clone duplicates the Immo ID from the first original ECU and flashes that to the replacement ECU.
Afterward, the Immo doesn't have any means of knowing the second ECU is not the original ECU. I think Unitronics free tweaking program has a Immo clone feature as well.

Default It will work '04 AMB MT ECU <> '05 AMB MT ECU, use the same 8E0 909 518 AF, AK, and BC.

The '04 AMB ECU PN is 8E0 909 518 AF, AK, and BC. for 5HP19FLA 5 speed tiptronic and MT. 8E0 909 518F and G for CVT. The '05>(>'07) AMB ECUs are the same, the AF, AK and BC as originally fitted are according to VIN. REF: Bentley.

As a practical matter all three suffix versions will work with all VINs for the AMB MT 2002>.

Default Thx for the info.

APR's site says their clone only works with APR tuned ECU's, but I may try it anyway.

For some reason I can't get Unitroincs to recognize my VAG-COM cable...

Back from the dead. Quick question. I have an APR flashed ECM on my 05 A4. I bought a spare used ECM from another vehicle, same part number. What is the easiest way to clone the immobilzer and the rest of the coding from the modules, etc. onto the new ECM to make it work on the car? Planning on running another tune on the new/used ECM when I upgrade turbos. TIA.

Is it possible to read the immo information from the APR tuned ECM using this? https://www.goapr.com/support/immobilizer.html Then copying on the new/used stock ECM?

I know this is a damn old thread but what if you had a cluster and ecu that were married together and you swapped from let's say an 03 to an 02 would that work? I have a donor car that has a tune on it and would like that tune in my 02, would that work.
