Default So, when I started the car cold this evening it started surging at idle...

800rpms then down to 500rpms, then back up pretty evenly at a normal interval.

Does this sound like a fuel delivery issue aka pump going bad? Also I saw the interior lights slightly dim at the time of the surging.

Default Gotta be the new horns.

j/k

Might be an alternator issue? Starter?
May be old battery?

I've had a similar thing happen to my previous car. The second it got slightly colder, it would do that. I've showed the dealer and they said that the car needs a new starter. But because the car started fine each time I never bothered with this. The only thing that I've done is feed it some gas so that the rpms don't go down that much when starting and for the first couple of seconds.

Default haha!.....it actually did this before the horn swap. :)

My first battery went at 30k so I'm almost to 56k and I wouldn't doubt it's the battery.

Default Oh well. It was worth a shot.

I'm out of ideas though.

Default This sounds like a cold start issue. There has to be a valve for this...

it may be sticky. Toyota's have this same issue and you would have to clean it with carb-cleaner. I would seriously doubt anything with battery or alternator. When vehicle starts, battery is no longer used because that is what the alternator is for. Now just like when subs hit and your lights dim, that is the same effect that this will have. Because your car is starving for either oxygen or fuel idle dies and the alternator puts out less power causing lights to dim! I would check something with cold start valves or similar.
