Hey all,

A few months ago when my mechanic was installing my aftermarket clutch and was testing the car out, he got what I consider my first CP failure, and he fixed it no charge (nice guy).

I got hit with a solid CEL last week, and was able to drive the car a few KMs home. I don't have VAG-COM, but by coincidence I had ordered Hitachi E CPs a few days beforehand, after reading how they supposebly hold up better than the stocks. Hopefully the new CPs and plugs fix the CEL... CPs will be here on Monday..

I've STFA, and several posted CP installation instructions, but I haven't seen anyone disconnect their batteries when doing so.. Is this necessary ?

It is however possible that it's a failing cp.

At least I'll be left with some spare CPs if it turns out it wasn't that...

I'm getting injectors, snub and diverter valve installed in a week or so, might swing by the mechanic's to get it scanned if the CPs where not the cause, I guess..
