Default Sorry for the pathetic question BUT - Painted lowers...

What's the concensus?

I have heard it's difficult to match the color... I've heard the paint chips off...
I do however like the look and given the fact that my car will be white I think it's a must.

What $ should I expect to pay?

Do you recommend an audi dealership or a custom shop?

Thanks to all... some WW for your time -

Default yes..the paint does chip....because the factory paint is much different

you could try using the 3m stoneguard to protect the part you are having painted.....I had an accident a year ago and had my front bumper repainted and...the color matches fine but the OG paint didnt chip but the new paint chips like a Motherfvucker..

Default had painted lowers for 3 years....

brought it to the "audi certified" body shop that my dealership uses for all paint work...

i paid 700 way back in the day...

the paint hasn't chipped off anywhere and i believe unless you're getting a kit the painted lowers are a must

the front bumper got road chips on it... but so did the upper bumper, hood, and fenders... so i took that in stride and i just ended up with a new bumper and new hood... so everything is freshly painted and i think it looks great now !

ps nice carmen picture ha

Default I had Audi paint and install my votex and paint

The match is perfect and to paint and install the votex and paint lowers cost 770.00 1.5 years ago. However, I made this deal whilst purchasing the car.

The front votex will chip due to the amount of rd grit you have. I live in Colorado where they use sand on the Roads for snow. My front is in about need of a repaint but rest looks great.

Default A good job where the parts are removed and then painted and put back on will run you..

about $1000 if it does done properly it will not chip.If you pay less..expect less and chips..

I know this because I have a body shop and have done the job to cars..and seen it done for less..and the quality usually sucks

Default I have mine colour matched to the car.

I had a local body shop do the painting and the final product is excellent.

No flaking or chips yet and it's been 1.5 years.
