Default Sound when turning

Has anyone experienced an unussual sound on their 2002 A4 Quattro when making tight tunrs? I have experienced a strange sound, low sound when the wheel is turned completely in one direction. I notice it when accelerating from a slow or stopped position.

This is my first Quattro car and this might be normal. Just want to know. Thanks.

Default Same here. At slow speeds and sharp turns (Double parking) I hear a low churning noise and the

steering is very heavy and choppy. I've just assumed it's because of the quattro working, or more appropriately, not working. I think it's trying to make up for the difference in rotations between the front tires and the rear tires and under faster speeds quattro works great, but at slow speeds, the rubber is picking up some slack, therefore, we get that effect.

Default my car makes noise when it is cold. It is the steering wheel rubbing somewhere.

you don't hear it when your going fast because your not turning the wheel as much

Default I think this is normal

It happens on all cars with power-steering system. Moreover, my Golf manual explicetly noted that one should not hold wheel in left- or rightmost position longer than 15 seconds as it might've potentially damage something (hydraulics ?).

In slow tight turns ( especially once tires wear down a little ) the driveline binds a little.

it's your quattro trying to pull the car in two different directions.

My Subaru SVX does this as well.

The Haldex-based systems do not do this.
