Got around to installing my Sparco Litium **** that I orderd last week. The feel is great, it complements my SS very well. Install was pretty straight forward, but I figured I would show a few pics to help others who might be interested, or at least to pass on the "mod bug".
Proceded to remove stock **** by removing the crimp clamp under the shift boot. I lowered the shaft all the way down because this **** did not sit as low as the stock one so I'm glad I had some slack to play with there. (Not an option if you have an OEM shifter, I have an AMS Short Shifter)
The next and probably the most important piece needed (for aesthetic value), so the shift boot doesn't end up looking like ***, I followed on the idea of a coke bottle neck from a fellow AW'er but tweaked it a bit.
I found a smaller plastic bottle, manufactured by a candy co. called Sips. The bottle is 1/2 the size of a coke bottle and the neck size was just perfect.

Then I took off about 1/8" of material from top to bottom so that when I squeezed it with a clamp is secured the shift boot well. I also used a 2nd clamp under the plastic neck for extra support.

I secured the shift know completely before finishing up with the boot.
Excuse the dust, but I was in hurry to install.

I also had to sew the "mouth" of the boot just a little to make the opening smaller, that helped in keeping it in place to properly secure it to the bottle neck.
That is all.
