speaker problems...
i heard a crackling come from my speaker this morning, and then it seemed quieter. i thought i blew it but i tried it again this afternoon and it seemed to be working fine. im not too worried about it but i was wondering if this has happened to anyone before? also, if it is blown, how much will it cost to replace? (from some electronics store that does car audio, not the dealer)
by the way i have non-bose, and it is the driver side bottom speaker.

Known problem, there is a TSB out for it. Something about grease getting in the speaker
if under warranty just take it in, otherwise, clean out the connects following the advice on that TSB.

My solution was not the same as the tech service bulletin
I had a similar problem. There was crackling, but in addition to that the speaker would cut out until I turned the volume up past a certain point (13) i think, then it would noticeably kick back on. As dumb as this sounds, it was very annoying.
After taking the entire door apart and examining the speaker, everything was clearly fine. The solution was painfully simple. There's a loose connection somewhere in the wiring between the car and the door. So to fix the problem...
Open your driver's door. Turn on the stereo to where you hear the speaker is cut out or crackling. Find the little rubber hosing that connects the door with the car, containing the wires for the speaker. Jiggle it a littl bit, moving it either towards or away from the door until the problem goes away. I did that a long time ago, and the problem was instantly fixed and never came back (knocks on wood/). I know, it sounds rediculous, but no one on the forums had any advice for me that worked, and that's what really fixed it!
