Default but my speedo is based of the tranny rpm, and the tach of the engine rpm

Put any tire on there and it still has the same ratio, the actualy vehicle speed will be off to an outside source, as per a radar detector will tell you your actual speed, which may differ than the speedo because of the tire size.

Stock tires fwiw, but it makes no difference with speedometer-tach relationship. Fact.

Good to know, I thought speed was pulled off of the ABS wheel sensors.

nope only the abs is, and it still would not matter.

hmm you still tach at ~4000 rpm @ 90mph?

Not sure.I don't have room to drive that fast. It's over 4k for sure.

Default Mine sits at 4k at 90mph and when he drove across the country he called me about it being at 4k rpm

I guess i should research what your B6 gearing is really...

Default For future referees, using an indicated road speed of 60 mph, makes....

comparisons of relative variables easier to calculate being
1 miles/min, common time basis with rev/min etc.

Default yea, The driver was noticing the difference more at higher speeds though.

Greater disparity in the values anyways.

Sure, that is reasonable, the percent error is a bigger value at 90 than at 60
