Speedometer (Canadian drivers)

Anyone have an explanation as to why there are red gradation marks on the speedometer at 30, 50 and 130 km/h. Can understand 50, as that's the speed limit in most cities, but can't explain the others. Didn't see any mention of it on reading through the owner's manual.

used to have those at about 50 and something else mph on the families old 11 year old golf(car before trade in!) always thought it had something to do with breaking in, obviously not, if at 30 kph, which is about 18 mph!

germany has no motorway speed limits, except in bad weather, in good weather, you could take your Mc Laren F1 upto its theoretical top speed of 241 mph, of course, youd need a large set of keys for that
, not to mention a death wish.
