Speedometer Whine
During the recent hot weather, I've notice that in the afternoon when the temperature is high (85+), the speedometer whines when throttle is applied.
Is the speedometer mechanical or is this likely within the dash itself?
Any ideas are welcome - I'm afraid if I take it to the dealer to diagnose, I'll get the famous "unable to duplicate" song and dance...

The speedometer is electronic, driven by a speed signal from the ABS controller...
transmitted to the instrument cluster on the powertrain CAN buss. Is the whine effected by the radio power state or volume level?

Negative - Seems to be related to throttle input and ambient temperature.
I was just out for a spirited drive and no sign of whine. I'm going to go out again this afternoon when it hot and see if it comes out.
