Default What, no Coil Overs?

You have to do Coil Overs with everything you want to do. The best of all worlds. ABT/Oettinger CO's would be a smooth ride compared to some. My H&R CO's are a bit firmer, but I am still amazed how nice they ride with this car.
You'll have great handling (for that turbo kit upgrade your planning on), adjustable height (for seasonal change if necessary) and the look you want.

Honestly, I do not subscribe to the idea that you can get aftermarket springs that are lower and a different spring rate then the OEM springs. The OEM shocks are not designed for them and will wear out sooner most likely. The result could even possibly be an unpleasant/unnatural ride.
Even mixing aftermarket "off the shelf" spring/shock combos is not a science- but the margin is closer. Coil Overs are much better in those terms, or a Cup Kit because they are R&D'd app specific as a pair.

Default I have those on my B5, ride is actually softer than OEM sport...

that my differ when it comes to the 8E. The drop isn't considerable though it does look good with 19" wheels and tires. However, I didn't care for the ride when the 19's were on. It rubbed too much for one, and over bumps the larger wheels would amplify ride harshness (naturally) while the soft suspension wouldn't keep the car planted to the tarmac firm enough.

I did just install my stock 16's wrapped in 215/55/16 tires and the ride is much smoother (of course) so I think this setup would work better with smaller wheels (no bigger than 17", 18" and up needs firmer suspension) and tires with an aspect ratio no less than 45.

Overall, this suspension (when mated to 17 inch or smaller wheels) is great for everyday driveablilty. But if you like to do a little "spirited" driving and want big rims, I'd look elsewhere (unfortunately more $$, but you gotta pay to play). Hope this helps.
