Std headlights

Std headlights
I was just wondering if anyone who has std headlights noticed that only the outer lights are on when the headlights are turned on. Is this becasue the innerheadlights are used for high beam only? Or do I have a problem with my car?

Same thing over here. It looked a little wierd at first but since the amout of light coming out seemed normal .. didn't give it much tought. It almost looks like some other light should be on.
