I live in CO where I think snows a lot (I'm from CA). It ruined my rims last year on my Jetta(before I went and got snow wheels). I traded in the Jetta for my A4 and since these are smaller rims with thicker tires, do you guys think I need snow tires/wheels? They are Pirelli All-Season. My Jetta had 18's with 35 series.

If you're worried about your wheels getting banged up, 17"s are probably too big. Like your old 18"s, there isn't much sidewall on the tires to help protect your wheels from damage (potholes, curbs, etc). If that's your concern, you should do like the others said and find a set of 16" wheels with dedicated snow tires. You'll also find snow tires will give you even better control than your all season tires, so if you can afford it, this is probably the way to go. Good luck...
