Default Strange behavior no more. New coil packs FTW. But there's more...

I was leaving the house so I decided to pop the new coil packs in and see what happened. Took all of 5 minutes. And yes, the old ones were all the "J" version. Replaced with "R" version. Good times.

Started it up, waited for the engine to settle, and then I realized... it sounded different. Like, noticeably more rhythmic and precise, if that even makes sense [windows were down]. I know, could be the placebo effect... but I am 100% positive on this one.

This was confirmed when I drove it. Acceleration has improved [nothing crazy of course] and the engine just feels more smooth overall. Maybe even a hair more power too. And most importantly, the slight hiccup at 3200 RPMs is gone.

I'm willing to bet it's been slightly misfiring for some time now... maybe even since I bought it. Who knows?? I always thought my mileage was a bit low. Hopefully I'll see an improvement there as well.

Thanks to Roman, Matt and Audi S5 TC for nudging me in the right direction.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/1088639.phtml">Original Thread</a></li></ul>

Was it a "J" or "R"? I might just toss the "J's" and pick up a few more "R's". THX

Default Very nice...glad to hear it all worked out for the best

Depending on your mileage, you should look into replacing the spark plugs. That will help a bit too

About $30 each, give or take a bit.
