I've started noticing a strange, benign noise, a sort of clicking sound, when I step on the gas at high speeds. I have a long daily commute and consequently find myself cruising at sustained high speeds - going between 80+mph and 100+mph for a good hour.

Has anyone noticed this noise? It happens before the turbo noise kicks in - and is absent when I let off the gas.

I've shut off the radio and shut the windows to see if I can hear the noise at low speed but everything seems OK.

Thanks for any ideas.

j/k. I've heard that bad fuel pumps will make a flapping noise, but I've never had that problem and wouldn't know first hand.

I had the same in my S3...never got it sorted just traded it in for an A4 !!
