OK so i was backing up out of my drive way this morning and my traction control and abs and brake light came on! Only the brake light was flashing. So i shut off the car and restarted and the lights cleared Strange. And no my e-brake was not on! So i was headed to work. I was late so i was doing like 80 Coming around a corner the brake light came on and was flashing then went out as soon as i came out of the corner? Any one have any ideas? My thoughts were wheel bearing possibly?
Thanks,
Ryan

Your symptoms are the same I had with my 2003 A4 Cabriolet, and also the same as a number of other posters on this forum have had over the years. The problem is the ABS control module. This used to be a $2,000 replacement item. When I had my ABS module fail about a year ago, Keyes Audi used a repair kit instead of replacing the entire assembly, which cured the problem for about $600.

That is fantastic lol. My traction control light seems to randomly flash once or twice a week on a curve on my way to work. I am going around the curve at speed limit speeds so it isn't an actual loss of traction.
I thought it could be two things, either a wheel sensor or its wiring had a problem and the sweeping curve caused the problem to crop up, or the curve was tricking the traction control system.

My ABS light would go on after hitting potholes, going through curves ... you name it. It usually would go off when I'd turn off the ignition, then turn it back on immediately. I took the car in when it started staying on even after restarting the engine. I never had another problem with it after the repair kit was installed, which took the dealer about two hours.

Is this a failure that will go from bad to worse.
I really don't want to get it fixed right now. Going to the dealer is a PITA for me. It is far away, they are short on rentals, and they never seem to be motivated to get me a timely repair.
That being said I don't want to go on for long if this will go from a 600 dollar repair kit, to an unfixable control board that needs a full replacement.
What does the repair kit fix?

The bottom line is that the repair kit fixes what is wrong internally with the ABS module, without having to pay for the cost of the entire (new) module. Without knowing precisely what's in the Audi kit, repair kits normally contain just those components which may cause failures. You end up paying less because you're just paying for the new working components, and not for the body that houses them. It's like this: you lose a button from a shirt. You can A) replace the button, or B) replace the shirt. It's a lot cheaper to just get a new button.
About delaying the repair, I did that myself until the ABS light came on and stayed on. It seems to me that if the module is telling me it's bad, it may in fact be bad. And it also seems to me that it is a good thing to have ABS brakes in an emergency, as opposed to not having them. In any event, I know from experience that instrument panel warning lights that are left on have a really bad habit of burning out quickly, which can be a real drag to fix.
