Stripped Rear Caliper Allen Bolt (8mm)
#2
Bummer. I worked on those last week...
and the rear caliper carrier bolts were a real pain. The only way I was able to loosen them was to use an allen socket driver and put an open-ended wrench on the allen itself. There is really no room to work in there. If you really can't get it out with all your might and locking pliers, you may have to drop the suspension to get more room. Good luck.

easiest is using a torch, heat just before point of melting and vice grip out
since the threads will loosen due to softening of metal.
or else unbolt the rear shock and grind/cut/drill anyway you perfer

When I did mine, I cut the end off a 8mm socketed bit...
and used a breaker bar. Cutting the 8mm bit was the only way I could get it in there with the bar. It's a really tight spot.

sorry for the confusion, I meant I cut the end of the hex bit off...
