Default Sunroof/Moonroof tilt problems...

So...I have been fiddling with my new A4, and have yet to figure out HOW to open up the "tilt" feature of the sunroof.

I know about the "ghost sunroof", and I even took the switch apart to make sure the DIY fix was properly done. Once everything was back together, I tested the tilt feature...and it still won't work. When I push or pull down on the "tilt" button, I hear the click of the switch, so I know the contacts are working properly.

Am I missing something here? Do I just need to go get a new switch from Audi? If so, anyone have the part number and approx. price handy?

Default I just did the ghost fix yesterday. After I reinstalled evertying, the tilt didn't work...

When I reopened it I noticed that the metal piece was bent up too much. The only part of the ends that should be bent up is the piece on the middle of each edge (kinda hard to explain but I bent the whole end - click was not as defined). But after I bent both ends back into place, I concentrated on just bending the middle pieces of each end and it worked after reinstall. If that doesnt work, may need a new switch.

Default There is definately a well defined "click" both pushing and pulling...

But no matter how long I push or pull...the sunroof won't tilt.

Now, if I "push" the tilt button for like 6-7 seconds, the sunroof will actually start to slide backwards (like I rotated the ****). And if I "pull" it down, it closes...which is odd.

Looks like I need a new switch...yuck...Anyone got a part number?

Default if you fast click it, it should auto open/close all the way the same as the windows do...

My sunroof has a problem because both clips on my sunshade broke and were stuck in the sunroofs tract...if this is your problem then it should show signs of the sunroof trying to open but just makes a grinding sound instead. heres a link to fix that problem...but if that is not the problem the link is still usefull because it shows you how to open up your sunroof for inspection.

Default I do, it is very annoying. >>>

Do you know what is rattling? Sounds like some cables that need re-tensioning. I think to do that I have to drop the headliner though..

Default I took some velcro (fuzzy side) and placed to create a tighter seal...

It doesn't do it when its open, only when shut. Creating a tighter seal when closed fixed the problem. Pretty embarassing for such a nice car. When shut, just touch the glass and see that its the glass itself. Crazy, the seal is not tight enough!
