Hello, new to the forums, been reading for a week, girlfriend and I are happy owners of an 2003 A4 1.8 Quattro Blk/Blk. Anyway everything mechanically great, but while driving at constant speed with the cruise set, at any speed, windows up radio down all the way, you can hear a suttle whine. I can't quite tell where it's coming from and it's not too obvious by any means, but while accelerating lightly or heavily, or descelerating, the very suttle whine will go away, maybe this whine is normal on the quattros the drivetrain working, I don't know never had this quiet of a vehicle on the inside so it could just be me... Anyone's elses the same way?? Thanks!

Subtle whines ar tough. I think in general, there should be no "whine". It could be tires (are they old, out of balance, cupped, cheap etc). If it is in one direction of turn and not the other and you have eliminated tires, it could be a wheel bearing. I would drive it and see if it gets worse.
