To swap an ECU, you would need to have the same Box Code? Is this corect?

From what i know you are correct..the numbers have to match up somewhere

Default sure and you need to deal with the immobilizer 3 issue

preferably if you plan to swap you'll have the immo3 taken care of
then you want the same code and trans type.

ie for least trouble no CVT to 6 speed ..

so basically look for someone with the same box code and someone that is 5spd like me?

AND you must have a dealer willing to hook them up to the 5052 and clone them. Guluck.

Default No the dealer must hookup the car to clone the ECU online.

This cannot be done by anyone other than the dealer.

Default Any person that really chips (as in develops) them probably can clone the immo3 serial eeprom

..its a serial eeprom on the underside of the ecu, take a look sometime..

unsolder source, read, unsolder destinator, clear and write, solder both back on.
