Quick Question. I switched to Mobil One syntetic oil a while ago.
I was curious to know if anyone uses synthetic tranny fluid for the 5 or 6 speed manual gear box.
How about gear lubricant?
In total what fluids in my Audi do I need to consider and can I or should I consider moving to a synthetic fluid or a more high performance fluid?
Thanks

Here's what I recommend;
8100 Ester E-Tech 0W-40 Motor Oil
Gear 300 Tranny Oil
DOT5.1 Brake Fluid

Not much reason to use anything else, although a few oils carry the long-life VW 503.01 spec. Don't use regular M1 or other synths beyond 6000 miles. I'd change it soon for the summer heat. Here are a few options, in order of preference: German Castrol Syntec 0w-30 "made in Germany" on label, M1 5w-40 "SUV", M1 0w-40, Saab 0w-30 Synthetic, aka Mobil 1 0w-30 Polar Long-Life, now on sale for $3!!! Other than these, you're on your own. You could blend the 5w-30 Mobil 1 with some 15w-50 to thicken it, btw. 50/50
