I could not believe how tossable this car was. It has auto adjusting suspension so you put it in dynamic mode and just act the fool in it. Great turning radius, wips around corners (I did at 70mph) stops on a dime - you forget it has a living-room behind you. Almost feels like you're driving an S4. The 4.2 is such a great engine!
I came in looking for an A6 but I was kinda disappointed by the lack of rear seat leg room. The A8, on the other hand, had plenty of room. Maybe a little too much, but it was a fun car to drive. I never thought about buying an A8 but that D2 was a really nice car. I just didn't like the interior colors that much. Just wasn't sporty enough. But I'll look for a nice used one when I'm ready to retire the A4. Just thought I'd post this for other tall guys ready to upgrade.

I liked the 4.2, but the car just seemed too big (for me at least) to live with every day. That being said, I LOVE teh D2 S8. I will own one of those one day, hopefully a gray market car with the euro-spec 6MT

I think I'll opt for the A6 though. I had just enough room in the back to sit with my knees strait ahead after setting my agressive driving position. Since I'm 6'3", that should be plenty for others to sit behind me.
In the A8 however, I could cross my legs in the back with the front seat pushed all the way back! It's just huge in there! I don't need that much room. Kinda makes me feel old.

My gf's mom had one (C6) and I would drive it on occasion. I liked it more than my dad's C5 that he had. Only thing is both were eternally slow (3.2 and 3.0 respectively). Opt for the 4.2 if you can find one

...nie shape, various miles and options.
I know Audis well, and I charge 5% over buy price to buy a car to order. That includes paperwork, inspection, paint metering, etc etc etc.
