Is there an adapter to make it possible to just plug and play a rns-e into a b6 a4 with factory sat.
illite antenna?
One plug into the the back of the radio and one plug into the existing harness? I am not electrically inclined by any means....

There is an adapter that usually comes with the RNS-E if you buy a package from somewhere.
That harness will allow you to plug all your exisiting plugs into this harness then one big block goes into the back of the RNS-E, which includes SAT.
I am able to hear the XM preview channel if I change the source to XM on my RNS-E.
