Default I am very sure there is. Per EUROTUNER this month, a 1.8t got

from a AEM CAI 15hp and 12lb tq on a dyno. If that car gets it then our intake must improve our cars as well.

Default Actually not near as much a HP gain as the VW in that article.....(m)

the current Audi cold air intake systems use a different route and different tubing then the VW & the overall "cold air" that is recieved into the Audi system is not as efficient. Therefore we see some HP increase but its more along the lines of 5-8 hp gain. About the same as a K&N filter. Although I do agree that the EVO system "looks" nice & professional.

Others have said 0 gain with EVO intake , what are you basing your 5-8 hp gains on ?

0 hp gain wouldnt surprise me. I was told 5-8 from someone whom took part in designing that intake.

Yeah but there is no evidence that it doesn't give any gain.

Default There is no evidence either way just yet.

Those who by it are doing it for the sound and the looks and hopefull for the gains.

Default I'm pretty sure APR determined that the OEM box flows as much as an intake

There is a reason why they recommend the stock airbox for the GT25 upgrade.

And my experience with turbocharged cars in the past backs that up. It's always increased responsiveness, but adds nothing to the powerband.

Default How about this

Granted it's an S4, but the results are still pertinent. The 1.8T and S4 use the same design airbox.
