Any references describing similar maintenance for other cars using ZF transmissions....
of the same models and layout, require the same maintenance procedures and are applicable also, particularly B5 Passat, Audi A6, A8, BMW 3 and 5 Series, etc. Note differences in fluid specs used however. "Flushing" the trans is not as important as renewing fluid properties and assuring adequate fluid flow with filter replacement.

"Lifetime" means 100,000 miles. BMW and Audi use this a reference as to how long
car lasts. We all know they last longer so fluids need to be changed. I have a 1.8t tip with a big turbo and I have 127,000 miles on my car. I changed fluid and filter twice.
