as far as packing, if wheels AND tires, then I use bubble wrap for the face of the wheel, then cardboard discs large enough to almost cover the front and back of the wheel (2 per side) and shrinkwrap the whole thing together. The tire on the outside acts as protection for teh rim.
If wheel alone, boxed, but wraped in a large amount of bubble wrap (especially the face of the wheel).
Cardboard does leave corrugated rash on wheels...make sure you protect the wheel face with something.
As far as time, you can estimate about 25lbs per wheel alone with dimensions of 18x18x10 and get a good estimate on UPS or FedEx websites. If wheels and tire, use 50lbs each and use 25x25x12 dimensions.
Good luck!

I've had one bad case of cardboard rash from a NEW S4 wheel. I yelled at the guy who shipped it, after I repeatedly asked him to make sure to pack it correctly. Got a refund, but what a shame, he ruined a perfectly good wheel.
