Tiptronic transmissions. My wife's colleague is interested in an A$ 1.8T, but not so much in Quattro. Should she get the Multitronic as opposed to the Tiptronic?

Thank you in advance

Default They dont do front trac with tiptronic, if they did, no one would buy them

multitronic is an order of magnitude better than tiptronic in a direct comparison, of course they dont have direct comparisons anymore

Soon enough, multitronic will come with Quattro meaning that only big power autos will use the 6 speed tips, and in a few years Im guessing Multitronic will beable to take that too meaning the tiptronic transmission will be a part of Audis history.

Default I have a 1.8T CVT but. I beleive Tip and Front trac are available...

Available in the US market. 0-60 the CVT is about 1 second faster than the tip.

Default Tip and front trac? you sure? I can see no reason for them to do this

especially since the US market only has two engines, both of which naturally fall within the CVT tolerances without artificially limiting their outputs.

Nope. Fronttrac=CVT or stick. Tip=quattro
