Default well, got the knee bolster off :)

I'd be really curious to see where exactly you tapped power though!

I have some ideas...

Got all grounds and stock amp tapped...so power is all that's left!

Default sub install notes....now with pics

here are some answers to specific questions:
thanks!

the fader controls the stock sub volume and rear speakers...set it to the
front and no stock sub volume..so that gives you a sort of aftermarket sub control by setting it up this way, and does not subtract from the interior sound b/c you are not mucking up the front sound, just lowering the rear.

remove knee bolster:
I got in way underrneath ( my back was on the floor) and pulled with my left hand and pushed with the right. i pushed on the black plastic
attached to knee bolster) and it "popped" off. there are 2 clips that need to pop out of their respective holes. I was afraid at first, then I shined a light in the crack between the trim and the bolster and saw the clips. there are 3 bolts...left, right, and one at the fuse box(take cover off to access it.) !

the power wire run:
I loosened the dead pedal and shoved the wire under it. the panels that run along the doors popped off as well...but i didn;t need to pop
them. I just popped the first panel near the dead pedal and pryed the rest up a bit and there was plenty of room for the wire. i ran 10 guage...good for up to 200 watts...amp is rated 100 bridged..use 8 guage if you plan on more than that or run more than 1 amp. the bottom (where your butt goes) of the back seat just pops out...just like my 00 did. there are metal bars in the front underneath the fabric/leather/leatherettte covering...just lift up and it comes loose...there is one on each side...just line it up and it pops back in place..no hardware.

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/13979/powerr_block_1.jpg">

Where did I get power from? The power distribution block (see pic !!). It is located near the firewall, hidded behind the knee bolster. If you look at the fuse box with the bolster off, the block is behind the fuse box. It has multiple large guage wires coming directly from the battery. Inthe pic, i point where attached the power. When I disconnected the bolt, it disconnected the power to the rest of the car...so you have to reset the window auto-up/down, the clock, and drive it to reset esp/abs (see owner's manual for procedures...plus it did NOT mess with my vag mods...those are stored in the central locking memory).
the 10 guage power wire went easily under all of the plastic panes at the doors...i loosened the dead pedal to slde it (the power wire) under it. I took out the back seat and ran the power wire under it...that is also the location of the in-line fuse on the amp
power wire. the ground is under the right side of the seat (see pic)...power comes from the left.

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/13979/harness_splice.jpg">

tap stock speaker level wires to sub:
I used crimp on splicers from radio shack to tap into the stock sub wires and remote. you do not have to cut the wire you are tapping, this
piece crimps onto it and contains the wire you are adding in another slot. I wrapped them with electrical tape for added strength. The tap is available at radio shack.

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/13979/line_converter.jpg">

Line converter install:
I used double sided tape and mounted the line level converter to the trunk (*see pic) behind the trunk liner. There's a positive
and a negative going to sub. I used the radio shack line splicer to splice into each line (see above)...thus i had 2 (short) wires...i then used 2 wire nuts and 4 longer wires to make 4 wires, 2 positive and 2 negative, to run into the line converter. The sub wires are "grey with a red stripe" and "grey with a mustard brown stripe." You can pop off the cover to the center car seat tie down to see it for sure (pic poster). My wife verified these colors before I tapped them and she was correct. The positive has the red stripe. Also, if you peel back the black wrapping around the wires, you will see that these 2 wires run in tandem back through the car...they are "braided" together.

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/13979/sub_speaker_inputs.jpg">

To attach amp to back of seat:
I just lined the whole back of my amp with velcro...4 ft for $5.00 at Wal-mart!!! The amp will not move...I need to hit the weights hard to budge it. Plus, no permanent scarring to the car...

remote wire:
The remote wire is the larger diameter of the 2 WHITE wires in the factory wiring harness. I have pics of the harness and wires (see poster). The trunk liner removed rather easily with the directions previously posted by another member. Just remember when re-installing to hook up the 12v for the extra cig lighter socket and the emergency fuel filler door latch. Overall, you only see about 6 inches of wire and 12 inches of rca cable...but that is only at the back of the seat. It is all easily removeable with no permanent holes/drilling/etc.

Default i am disappointed with the invinca-shield pics...

it blends sooo well with the dolphin you cannot see the LARGE amount of coverage area...just imagine the ~center~ of the pics... you can see a faint line on a couple of them....i was as close as the camera would get to snap the pics. I am VERY impressed with the install.
