Default It was between the Stoptech and the 993TT kit from Bira/ECSTuning. I think i'll be going stoptech..

It looks like it can't be beat for a slightly sub $2000 kit. When I get paid, i'll be giving you a shout to see if you have the lowdown on the best prices. I'm glad you like the Darryl. I know it was a PITA with the wheels, but it's the price you pay for having to match such beautiful wheels to such hi-performance hardware. Did everything work out with that? Hope so. Cheers! Mike

Default Good post Mike, I've been telling the B6 A4 boys...

Who wanna do the B5 S4 Brake upgrade that they're too heavy, adding weight to an already heavy AWD car is not good if you really wanna optimize your performance. Guys like you & me want as much performance as we can get out of an already underpowered car, but don't wanna add more wieght which ultimately robs the little power we have. Not to mention the weight savings with the Stoptech's is "unsprung" weight which means you're weight savings is 3X's the numbers you listed. Stoptech's rock!

Also FYI I called Strat/OCT today, you can still get the OCT B6 FMIC, gotta order it though.

Default So true, I held the stock caliper in one hand...

and the ST caliper in the other and it's night and day, the ST caliper is wayyy bigger too. This BBK upgrade is soo worth the money IMO.

Default Thanks bro...couldn't agree more. Without any new hp upgrades for awhile (edited)...

i'm working on shaving off the pounds. I have a little spreadsheet worked out that shows my actual weight savings and unsprung weight savings compared to stock and compared to other performance set-ups. I'll post it when i get close to being done. I have heard unsprung weight can be multiplied by as much as 8x. Any confirmation on this???? BTW, any ideas on when we can all see a 350hp set-up Cheers! Mike

PS...thanks for the info on that O.CT fmic. I just spoke with ABT and it looks like they have something pretty sweet as well. We shall see. Nobody can point towards testing between DSMICs and a single FMIC yet, so i'm leary to spend the money without some solid evidence. Looks like I may have to be the one to provide that evidence.

Default I'm working on it ; ) Should be very very soon, "Two weeks" LOL

I'm not sure about 8X's but it's possible with some moving parts. The quattro robs alot of power, that's why I got the FWD : ) Don't flame me for that!!!

Good idea on the weight savings chart make sure you share that valuable info with all of us!!!

Default Mike I've already done it!!! I had the Duals before...

the OCT FMIC. You can feel the difference right of the bat, the FMIC is more efficient. I did Vag IT temps on both the FMIC and Dual setups. The OCT FMIC was 6-10C lower after 4 hard runs, and then as much as 18C better after several more hard runs. The Duals were heatsoaked as much as 20C higher than the FMIC after 2 minutes @ idle. Although the Duals did cool down once the car got going, and there's not doubt that they're way better than one stock unit.

Then there's pressure drop, much more with the Duals, lag is more noticible as well, not much but you can tell. FMIC is the way too go my friend.
