Not sure if this is old hash or just my car (3.0Q , TiP), but has anybody experienced a lag or hesitation in their Drive-By-Wire ?
A good example, if your rolling up to an intersection and want to punch it to get through you get the feeling that the car is never going to move..... takes more pedal than you think to get rpms up....
Even considered the Sprint Booster (at $250-300 price) to fix this.
What i tried....
Used my normal Ross-Tech Vag-Com cable with the
Unisettings USB tool offered by Frieling-Racing.
This tool has been around and is nothing new, but I had never seen it used to address throttle lag.
I changed the Throttle offset (Channel 1) by trying negative offsets of 40 rpm , 60 rpm, 80 rpm
Justa poor Mech Engr messing with the dark arts here, but the negative offset seems to have taken up all of the delay or lag in the system.
Pedal is now responsive with no lag.
Observations
1)-80rpm was almost too much. car seemed to jump.
2)-60rpm was smooth and just right IMO
3) Idle was unchanged for all 3 offsets.
I have driven the car all week just to make sure of the improvement and.... my car is FUN TO DRIVE AGAIN!!!
I do not fully understand why the offset does not change the idle, but I don't care since the dreaded lag is GONE!

Unitronic download here

I have not tried it but I think this freeware works with the cheepie E-Bays cables as well. (i.e. dumb USB interface)
I will try it today again using the E-Bay cable instead of the Ross-Tech and post the outcome.

further than is ??
A Throttle body adaption may undo this affect.
Again, I'm really happy with the results so I'm not questioning it too much...

with the throttle.
Usually when hitting the throttle, it takes a 1/2 second or so to respond. But now, when I jab the throttle, the car kicks back immediately. Even at lower RPMs like 2000-2500.
I did a quick 10 minute test drive. But tomorrow, what I'll do is go for a drive with the new settings and then change it back to zero. Then do another drive and see if I can feel a difference. But for right now, I think the car does respond better. I'll post up my findings tomorrow.
