Tilting passenger side mirror ... question ...

Hi again,
At page 85 of the manual it is said that with the control **** on the R position, when you engage the reverse gear the passenger side mirror tilts down; then, the mirror reverts to its original position as you shift out of reverse or turn the **** back to O or L.
In my case, the mirror tilts back up only if I turn the **** to O or L ... or if I turn off the power, but it remains tilted down if I simply leave the **** on R, even if I shift out of reverse and into forward gears.
Has anybody tried this?
Is it a misprint in the manual or a program glitch in my car?
Thanks for your attention.
Roberto.

the mirrors stays tilted down until you move forward above a walking pace - it is trying to accommodate backing and filling parking maneuvers! just putting it in D isnt enuf. i havent tried to drive fwd 100 yards at 3 mph yet to see if there is a limit to the going-slow input.

I have experienced the same phenomenon. The passenger side mirror should return to the position it was in prior to changing its angle for reverse but it doesn't always work that way. I have automatic door locks installed which lock at 6 mph and return the passenger side view mirror back up to its prior position (but off a bit).

Hummm ... I have not tried to move forward, just shifting ... can't wait [good excuse to start up the car ... :-) ]

you're trying to slowly go forward and back into a parallel spot, etc. Wouldn't want the mirror to keep going up and then back down each time you inched forward and then back again.

... but at least, so I read, they are speed controlled in the intermittent mode right ?
(I have not tried yet ... haven't seen rain for months either ... just snow).
