Default I just got FM901's. They look great, but I know they were not rated that highly. People complain

about the noise, but it's not that bad. I got 27k out of the Conties that came with the car. I was able to get the Dunlops out of the door for $600. I've got a kid in college so price does matter, I'll see how long these tires last.

Default I have Dunlop FM901s...

I have had four flat tires in 22,000 miles, one being a high-speed blowout. Every one has been a nail in the tire, so maybe I just have horrible luck. Something just seems fishy.

Default I got the Kumho Ecsta ASX for my fiance's Passat...

they are good tires. I got them for ~$500 which included mounting, balancing, tire disposal, and an alignment.

Ride noise is good with the ASXs. I don't really push the Passat too hard, so handling and comfort are ok.

Obviously, my F1s are better than either of those. Overall in the wet, the ASXs performed as expected. Granted they aren't really in the same category as my Nokians (which blows them away in handling, comfort, with equal ride noise), they were significantly cheaper than any of my other tires I've purchased.

How come you get such crappy miles on your tires? I am getting like 30-35k miles on every set of tires I've owned on both the Audi and the Passat.

Default i got em, theyre great!

great grip in the dry. very predictable handling at the limit. same goes for wet conditions. the tires look about 70% after about 10K miles on them and they perform almost like new (well, not BRAND new, but after breakin). i like the tread pattern as well, but it IS quite loud on the highway.

I don't know...but it's pretty average of what I get out of tires, around 25,000 miles.
