My local Audi dealer is offering the following timing belt replacement “specials" (all include timing belt, waterpump, thermostat, roller, tensioner, belt damper, ribbed belt and coolant):
3.0 liter - $1,765
2.8 liter $1,195
2.7 liter $1,395
1.8 liter (2002-2205) $1,149
1.8 liter 1998-2001 $1,095
I am interested in knowing what it might be on a 2008 2.0T – anyone get a sense based on the quoted prices for these other engines? Also, are these numbers reasonable, a rip-off, and is there anything else they should be replacing along with the timing belt?
I have 1 2008 A4 2.0T and was wondering what it might cost for this service, should I decide to buy the cars at lease end. Thanks.

The prices quoted are pretty good for a dealer. Nothing else needs to be done except the cam follower on your 2.0T if it has not been done. I would think the costs would be similar to the 1.8T.
You might save money at a local independent Audi shop but then you want to know how good they are (check your local forums here or other Audi forums)
